Torque vectoring per wheel, battery packs shaped to drop the centre of gravity below the wheel line, synthetic soundscapes tuned like exhaust notes. The numbers are absurd: sub-three-second launches in family-sized bodies. But the real story is balance - engineers are finally designing around the battery instead of despite it.
Purists will keep the faith, and good luck to them. A manual gearbox on a B-road is still a kind of church. But the idea that electric means boring died the first time one of these cars put its power down out of a hairpin without a hint of drama.
